I can live healthily and happily in a small…. Another negative thing about small towns is there is nothing to do in them. The cops are always around, so teenagers cannot hang out and do dangerous things, or things they want to do. The most fun people in small towns have are either going to parties which the cops bust, or going two towns away and sitting the Wal-Mart parking lot talking or trying to race each other down one of the straight stretches.

Other than that there is not a cool hang out to go to like they have in Dazed and Confused. It gets pretty boring in small towns. Second, small villages can be spotted miles and miles away from a city. Like the city, a village has utilities but are made and used in different way. For example, when winter comes you would to start a fire instead of having gas available to you. Climate around the village area may vary. You will have to stay in doors most of the time during seasonal changes in the whether. In the present time, many people who live in small towns want to move in the city; therefore, there are many reasons to justify this choice. The larger job opportunities and schooling are just a few. Growing up in the big city offers a person great opportunities educationally, socially, and helps prepare them for their furute better then small rural towns do.

Children in big cities get much better educations and are offered more AP courses to further their college education before they even begin college. Big cities also offer childrent the social aspects of life needed for a child to feel happy. They make more friends in a bigger city and bigger school, they have many more things to do on weekends getting teenagers out of trouble many times and they also develop the relationships needed to feel whole inside in the big city. It is a well-known fact that the world is becoming increasingly urbanized. In almost every country in the world the trend has been for more and more people to move from small towns to larger cities. I think the education and career opportunities are the most prominent among them. Living in a city and living in a small town have both advantages and disadvantages. Living in a city involves having a fast-paced life, while living in a small town usually slows things down and gives people a stronger sense of calm. Talking about where you prefer to live in, a big city or a small town, different people have different point of views.

Although it is bit difficult to say that it is better to live in a big city than to live in a small town. While cities and small towns are extremely different, their inhabitants have to go through the same drill every day in order to be content: work, socialize and aim towards forming or maintaining a family. At times, the living environment affects the way we commute, travel and socialize; hence big cities and small suburbs come clashing with their advantages and disadvantages. People choose to live at places at their preference thus why it will affect many people different ways. Whether it is the quiet town or the busy city, benefits and consequences may follow.

In my opinion, I believe living in a big city would be beneficial for me in my economic and social life. Throughout society and life the evidence to support my viewpoint is very persuasive. Everywhere in all countries there are small towns and big cities. People like big cities so they can find all facilities there. There are also people who like small towns. I am going to write about the similarities and differences between a small town and a big city. Some people prefer to live in a small town whilst others prefer to live in a big city. Which place would I prefer to live in? Living in big cities or small towns both have advantages and disadvantages to their location.

Convenience is one of the most beneficial factors to living in a big city. Larger cities are more industrial and advanced and everything can be found with the least effort and time. Big cities also usually have better schools and universities than a small town. This gives people a better chance at a higher and more rounded education that can prepare them for the workplace, large cities have more opportunities specially when it comes to careers as you are more likely to find higher paying jobs so consequently live a more comfortable lifestyle. The big cities also offer a multicultural aspect compared to small towns, you will find people from all over the globe that have come to big cities and open restaurants and shops.

A lot of young adults generally prefer to live in a big city as there is more to do, more shops, bars, restaurants, theatres and museums especially if they have grown up in a smaller town, after all, big cities never sleep. However, there are some values in a small town that are just as or even more important and more difficult to achieve in a big city such as nature and the warmth and comfort of humanity. The quality of life is easier and less expensive. If you want to live in one you must sacrifice the other, live in a calm and quiet and pollution free environment or the busy, entertaining and never sleeping city? I, personally, like living in a smaller town somewhere not too far from a larger city so I can have if and when I want the best of both worlds.

People are not only concerned about the safety of a community, but they are also concerned about the environment. Although some neighborhoods might look attractive, people should consider the expense that comes with it, and how commuting will affect them in the long run. Nevertheless, both neighborhoods have their specific advantages and disadvantages. When choosing between an urban or suburban neighborhood, it is important for people to research the community, the expense, and convenience.

There are many advantages and disadvantages of choosing to live in the country or to live in the city. But the advantages of living in the country definitely outweigh the advantages of living in the city. Our Town is a rather unorthodox production. Most playwrights want to go for realism and detail, with huge scene sets or intricate scene changes. Not this one. In Our Town the author Thornton Wilder strives to create a play which does not need to rely on scenery and detail, but visualization and the investment of the audience. In this way there is nothing to distract from the core message or plot of the play. Now within this script there are several directors in which have taken the play and made it their own. From these three representations one of theme most suitably gets a grasp of what Wilder was going for; simplicity, relatability, and imagery.

A challenge that many rural communities are dealing with is the lack of primary care physicians, specialist, understaffed hospitals, and transportation. Although, there are programs designed to improve patients access to hospitals and physicians in rural areas, provider access for these patients remains a barrier.

Technology can bridge some of the gaps of care for these patients and it can be beneficial in many ways. To assist physicians with delivery of optimal care and for patients to be able to go to scheduled wellness visits with physicians, a new approach to solving rural health barriers are needed. Although living in the city has many advantages there are some disadvantages too, the cost of the living is very high in the city, the city is always noisy, no fresh air and pure water. So it is hard to lead a healthy life. On other hand the village the undeveloped area for example, we cannot easily get many facilities the insufficient medical and education facilities, few opportunities to make money, little entertainment, no or little public transportation, also less facilities than a big city offers.

Packing up your life and belongings is a difficult task to do. My family lived in Apple Valley, MN, until the week before my 7th birthday. My parents told my younger brother and I that we were moving to Hastings, MN. I had no idea where that was as a child. I was excited about this new experience. I have always been interested in travelling. When we arrived in Hastings, it was nothing like my old town. I knew nobody, all I knew was that I lived in the middle of the woods. Urban areas are the human settlement with high population and well-established infrastructure. People who live in urban areas are mostly involved in commerce and trading activities. However, urban areas are not confined to cities only, but also includes the suburbs areas.

On the other side, rural areas are region situated on the outskirts. There are open space and natural vegetation. Residents practice agriculture and animal husbandry and use it as a source of income. Read it and get inspired! by Morgan Schondelmeier. She got in! Check it out:. Old Saybrook is a town that I love; filled with beaches and restaurants, a quaint Main Street and green parks, it is quintessential Smalltown, New England. But in addition to its charm, growing up in Saybrook has had its challenges. A lack of cultural experience and awareness seems to permeate my town of Old Saybrook, leaving the kids of this small town with little knowledge of what the world truly has to offer. Being confined to a community with an area of 15 square miles has left me with a desire to see what lies beyond the borders of Old Saybrook.

It began the summer before ninth grade when I took a trip to Europe through the program People to People. I, along with 44 other teens, traveled from the beaches of Greece, through the countryside of Italy, up to the center of France. This three-week-long complete immersion into travel and the European way of life left me thirsty for more. In the years that followed, my desire slowly morphed and developed, grew and transformed into a need, an obsession. I plastered my walls with pictures of the architecture of Rome and the beaches of Brazil. I spent hours on my computer searching for more opportunities to travel—counting my pennies, calculating how long until I could dive into another culture. I became committed to learning new languages, taking French in school and scrounging the library for audiotapes that could teach me a new language.

And after a failed attempt at mastering the difficult accents used in German and Russian, I realized that it would be years before I could truly escape this small town. My calling came sophomore year when another international travel program entered my radar. Walking Tree Travel presented to my French III class one of its programs: a trip to Senegal. I immediately signed up and four months later, armed with a borrowed Spanish I textbook, I was in Costa Rica. While I spent two weeks cliff diving, hiking, and zip lining, my 14 companions and I spent two weeks living and working with the inhabitants of Las Brisas. My life began to revolve around life and work in Las Brisas. I would wake up every morning and walk a mile to the school where we were building a new support wall and mixing cement by hand for hours before being refreshed by a hot cup of coffee.

The physical requirements of building a seven-foot high cement wall are extensive, but the rewards were even greater. I made new friends with the Las Brisas natives, began learning a new language, and really connected with the dozens of individual personalities and relationships that existed in this small farm town. Everyone had their own stories to tell and dreams to share, from the littlest chica to the oldest hombre. I gained so much more insight into culture in my two weeks in Las Brisas than I ever expected. They come from a different world than I do, but we share so many similarities! They like watching TV and playing sports.

Others love traveling to see the wonders their small country has to offer. Some even love texting and, like me, some dream to escape their small town and see the world. My experiences in Europe and Costa Rica have given my life purpose and focus. I study hard in French and now take Spanish as well to build a foundation of knowledge that I hope will grow during and after college. These friendships have changed my perspective of humans and cultural differences as a whole. My interest in travel and foreign cultures has grown from a desire to an obsession to a virtual need for new experiences and relationships. I hope to fulfill this need in college and my career after, traveling and meeting new people and working to build a better world.

But now, as I mature, I know that I will not forget the small shoreline town that I dreamed of leaving, knowing that one day, I will dream of returning. Feeling motivated yet?
